Iran’s deputy defense minister says the Islamic Republic has successfully test-fired a land-to-sea ballistic missile in the Persian Gulf.

Iranian Navy warships to dock at Russia’s Astrakhan: Russian military

A group of Iranian Navy vessels will make a stop at the Russian port city of Astrakhan, the naval base of Russia's Caspian Sea fleet, in the coming months, the Russian military says.

In recent years, Iran’s Navy has been increasing its presence in international waters to protect naval routes and provide security for merchant vessels and tankers.

On March 21, the 24th fleet of Iran’s Navy, comprising Sabalan destroyer and Kharg helicopter carrier, docked at the Port of Colombo in Sri Lanka after patrolling Southeast Asia's Strait of Malacca and successfully conducting a mission in the Indian and Pacific oceans.

The fleet docked at China's Zhangjiagang port on March 4 after sailing 13,000 kilometers in 40 days.

Die alte Bayandor wurde nach einer Werftliegezeit von ca. 2 Jahren wieder in den aktiven Dienst der IRIN überführt. Die Kampfwertsteigerung ist durchaus erheblich und damit steht wieder ein weiteres brauchbares Schiff zur Verfügung.

In a project which took about 528,000 man-hours, Iranian experts overhauled the Bayondor using 8,000 “indigenized” parts, replacing 2,500 faulty parts, servicing 3,200 components, repairing 170 systems, and upgrading 98 systems. The Bayondor had been decommissioned for about two years to be overhauled.

The destroyer’s main engines, heat exchangers, and fuel and oil systems were repaired, and its control room was upgraded. An advanced fire-control system, 40mm and 76mm guns, and surface-to-surface missile-launching systems were also installed on the destroyer. [Ergänzung: Ghadir Torpedowerfer]

The warship is 83.3 meters long and 10 meters wide and weighs 1,135 tons. In the ceremony, Major General Salehi said that the Iranian Navy had been adequately equipped to expand its presence on

Die Zeit wierd knapp für den Iran...Schiffstechnisch gesehen sind es einfach Konstruierte Schiffe, wenig Aufbauten einfaches Design und warum baut man immer 40mm und 76mm Geschützte ein?
Diesen Type hat man sich bisher getraut zu Kopieren vom Westen. :mrgreen:

Die rüsten halt diejenigen Waffensysteme ein, die sie selbst herstellen können. Das 76mm Geschütz ist ok. BAE vermarketet auch das Bofors 40mm Marinegeschütz/Flak weiterhin. Was den iranischen Konstruktionen aber in meinen Augen fehlt ist eine Luftabwehr a la RAM. Das würde dann auch das 40mm Geschütz auf den iranischen Korvetten obsolet machen. Die meisten Komponenten westlicher Designs sind eingekauft. Insofern beeindrucken mich "iranische Kopien" aus technologischer Sicht mehr.

Nun ja beeindrucken tut mich das schon das man Schiffe baut, aber wie du auch sagst es ist doch keine richtige Strategie zu entdecken, die Luftabwehr Komponenten sind eher gering, wenn man nur wert auf Schiffsbekämpfung legt ok aber ob das reicht?

Die USA zb werden sich auf keinen Klassischen Kampf einlassen, sondern werden erstmal alles was fliegen kann einsetzten...
