US-Krieg gegen FARC: Zum Abschuss freigegeben

Überraschen konnte es nicht wirklich. Nun ist es amtlich, dass die USA einen maßgeblichen Anteil daran haben, dass die kolumbianische Armee in den letzten Jahren rund zwei Dutzend ranghohe FARC-Comandantes durch präzise Bomben oder im Gefecht getötet haben. Mit High Tech aus den USA und detaillierten Standort-Infos wurden die Aktionen erst möglich.

2007 starben die beiden ersten FARC-Comandantes bei derartigen Angriffen. So wurden die 16. und die 37. Front führungslos. Das hatte Folgen. In beiden FARC-Kampfverbänden gab es Auflösungserscheinungen, so berichtete William Scoggins, ein US-Drogenexperte, der “Washington Post”. Das war der Anfang der systematischen Schwächung der FARC. Die schrumpfte von 2007 rund 18.000 auf derzeit rund 8.000 Kämpfer. Ein Erfolg, den sich Ex-Präsident Álvaro Uribe Vélez gern auf seine Fahnen schreibt. Doch die wahren Verantwortlichen sitzen in Washington.

Die FARC - oder das, was sich noch als sie ausgibt - scheint immer noch aktiv zu sein. Anscheinend wurde nicht nur eine Blackhawk mithilfe einer FPV-Drohne abgeschossen, sondern es gab auch noch einen Bombenanschlag im Escobar-Stil mitten in Cali...

Die FARC scheint weiter recht aktiv zu sein - nachdem, wie im vorangegangenen Posting beschrieben, ein Helikopter mit einer Drohne zum Absturz gebracht wurde, scheint die Organisation nun mit Drohnen Angriffe auf Flusspatrouillen zu unternehmen.

A Colombian Navy (ARC) Heavy Riverine Support Patrol Boat (Patrullera de Apoyo Fluvial Pesados: PAF) was attacked on 23 August with grenades launched from drones presumably operated by Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia – Dissident (Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia – Disidente: FARC-D), ARC confirmed to Janes .

This is the third such attack – the first being in November 2024 and the second occurring in July 2025, according to the ARC. The 23 August attack occurred in Puerto Leguízamo, Putumayo department, in the southwest of the country, at night, amid night-time patrols of waterways by the ARC.

This new attack demonstrates the intention to test the resilience of the vessels – their armour and potential vulnerabilities – and to regularly harass the support, surveillance, and control operations the craft carry out against groups such as the FARC-D, National Liberation Army (Ejército de Liberación Nacional: ELN), and Gaitanist Army of Colombia (Ejército Gaitanista de Colombia: EGC – also known as Clan del Golfo), and as a development of the new combat tactics employed by these groups, the ARC told Janes.
