Khatami wishes success to Chavez

Tehran, Aug 18 - President Mohammad Khatami here Tuesday evening expressed the hope that following President Hugo Chavez's victory in the recent Venezuelan recall election the big powers would not have any opportunity to interfere in domestic affairs of that country.

For his part, President Chavez stressed that promotion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries will lead to further development of both states.

He also underscored the need for closer Iran-Venezuela cooperation at OPEC.
