Im Bezug auf die Black Sites wird Polen neuerdings als das Hauptzentrum der Gefangeneunterbringung angesehen. In der Print Ausgabe der Gazeta Wyborcza wurde diese Woche mehrfach darüber berichtet. Daher nimmt nun in Polen udn auf POlen der Druck zu. Daher hat sich die neue Regierung zunächst zu diesem Schritt entschieden:

und noch folgendes zm Irak: Polen will den Verbleib weiterer Kampfeinheiten an weitere amerik. Hilfen zur Moderniserung seines Militärs knüpfen. Die Polen trainieren teile der 8. irak. Infanteriedivision, die von den Polen die militärische Sicherheitsausübung in ihrem Sektor Anfang 2006 übernehmen soll. Weitere polnische Kampfeinheiten zur Unterstützung dieser Einheit sollen nur stationiert bleiben im Irak, falls Washington sich entsprechend großzügig zeigt.

Poland has asked for additional U.S. military assistance to modernize its own forces as it considers whether to extend the presence of Polish troops in Iraq next year, according to Polish and U.S. officials.
Although Warsaw has stopped short of conditioning its Iraq decision on the request for aid, it has made it clear that the two are linked, saying the $600 million it has spent on the Iraq operation has siphoned funds from plans to upgrade its own military.
