Die Osmanen sind aber ein Einschnitt in Kleinasien - haben nicht allzuviel mit den Troja und Byzanz zu tun
Geistige Erben dieser Geschichte sind Europa allgemein, Griechenland und Russland - nicht die Tuerken
USA haben ja auch nicht die Indianer beerbt oder jetzt das Abasidenkalifat

In die EU sollten nur Länder Mitglied werden, die auch einen Teil in Europa liegen haben und nicht Länder, die überhaupt nicht in Europa liegen. Kurz: Zypern nein, Türkei ja.

Realitaet sieht aber anders aus - bei Zypern hies es ja udn da haben nur die Tuerken protestiert - kein widerstand in Europa - bei der Tuerkei heisst es hoffentlich nein udn der Widerstand scheint zu wachsen

Ich denke, Söhnchen, du machst erst einmal eine Reise in die Türkei für zwei oder drei Wochen und dann reden wir weiter.

Und um eine Meinung zu haben ob die Tuerkei Mitglied werden soll oder nicht muss ich keinen Urlaub in der Tuerkei machen...

PALLONE URGES STATE DEPARTMENT TO CONDEMN NEW TURKISH CODE PUNISHING TURKS WHO OBJECT TO GOVERNMENT'S POLICY TOWARD ARMENIA & CYPRUS


Long Branch, NJ --- U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ), co-chairman of the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues and a member of the Congressional Caucus on Hellenic Issues, today urged the State Department to strongly condemn a new penal code adopted by the Turkish Government late last month that would punish Turkish citizens or groups with up to ten years in prison if they confirm the fact of the Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey or call for the end of the Turkish occupation of Northern Cyprus.

In a letter to Secretary of State Colin Powell, the New Jersey congressman said that the new Section 306 of Turkey's criminal code not only hinders improved relations between the Republic of Armenia and Turkey, but it is also an imprudent step on the part of a nation that is desperately trying to establish an image of having a free and democratic society. Pallone wrote that Turkey's action represents a dramatic display of the Turkish government's campaign to deny the Armenian Genocide and further inhibit a resolution to the Turkish occupation of Northern Cyprus.

Publishers call to reverse law criminalizing recognition of Armenian Genocide

YEREVAN (YERKIR) - International Publishers’ Association (IPA) sent a letter on October 4 to the Dutch Presidency of the EU, EU Commission President Romano Prodi and incoming President José-Manuel Barroso to pressure the Turkish authorities to abandon the criminalization of expression of the Armenian Genocide, a measure jeopardizing freedom of expression and freedom to publish.

According to Article 306 of the new Turkish Penal Code adopted on September 27, 2004, a citizen who demands the withdrawal of Turkish soldiers from Cyprus or declares that the Armenian Genocide actually took place during the First World War can be pursued by virtue of Article 306. Prison sentences range from "three to ten years".

Aha, daher weht der Wind!

Und ? - die Signatur kann ich mir auch zu eigen machen - find ueberhaupot nichts verwerfliches dran - und an einer juedisch-amerikanischen Verschwoerung zwecks Beitritt der Tuerken glaub ich nicht so ganz
Ist glaub auch der einzige Punkt wo ich mit Stealth einer Meinung sein kann *g*
