North Korea may be preparing to launch Rodong missile

TOKYO — Japan suspects that North Korea may be preparing to conduct an engine-combustion test of either a Rodong or a Taepodong ballistic missile, government sources said Thursday.

Both the Japanese and U.S. governments detected data from reconnaissance satellites around the middle of last week showing that vehicles and people were gathering at a missile base in the northeastern part of North Korea. The activity around the base intensified Tuesday, the sources said. (...)
