Ich halts langsam nicht mehr aus,weiß irgendwer von euch wann es nun kommt?Es wurde ja durch die Hutton-Enquiry aufgehalten.Was sind eure Spekulationen?
Meine sind:
1.Nur noch 10 Type45 aber die letzten vier mit TacTom und Harpoon.Die ersten sechs werden später aufgerüstet.
2.CVF mit 55000 Tonnen und 24-30 JSF und 6 Merlin und 4 AEW.
3.2 neue Rivers.
4.keine weiteren Astutes in den nächsten 7-12 Jahren.

Wenigstens geht ein Programm voran,die A330 ist auch die bessere Maschine.:daumen:

Können die Briten überhaupt noch auf 130 Eurofighter reduzieren? Die stecken doch Metertief in den Verträgen drin. Es wäre auch ein harter schlag für EDAS und nicht nur für die RAF selbst!

Keine Ahnung,hat D nicht auch beim A-400 M reduziert,etwas vergleichbares wäre hier ja vielleicht auch möglich.

Ja aber die beim A 400 M waren nur Vorverträge unterzeichnet. Beim EF sind die da ja schon viel weiter. Während der A 400 M erst ca 2008 bis 2010 kommt (oder später) wird der Ef jetzt schon eingeführt.

MoD cuts back to cope with deficit

THE Ministry of Defence has ordered urgent cuts be made because it is suffering from a cash deficit of hundreds of millions of pounds this year.

One defence source said that over the next few years the deficit could amount to “several billion pounds”. The financial crisis is so severe that, according to Treasury sources, the Chancellor has had to agree to give an extra £400 million to the MoD.

However, the “black hole” is believed to be considerably larger, and cuts will have to be imposed immediately to keep within this year’s budget of £31 billion. All the MoD’s main budget-holders have been told to come up with a list of cutbacks, and defence sources said that military exercises may have to be pruned, fuel for training reduced and equipment projects delayed.

One defence official said the problem was “cashflow”, and that the MoD needed an overdraft from the Treasury just to maintain the running costs of the Armed Forces.

The unprecedented financial challenge for the MoD has nothing to do with the operational commitment in Iraq, which is already funded by the Treasury to the tune of £3 billion, nor the rocketing costs of new equipment.

The problem has arisen because the Treasury has ordered every government department to switch to an accounting system based on the total assets of each ministry.

For the MoD, the exercise has been hugely complex. It has not been easy to put a value on a tank which has 1,000 miles on the clock and a tendency to suck in sand in the desert.

However, after totting it all up, the MoD told the Treasury it had assets worth £86 billion. But the Treasury thought differently, and put a lower price on the MoD’s value. This has created an embarrassing gap in the MoD’s finances, and it has meant there is now less cash available this year

Die Vorzeichen verdichten sich immer mehr dazu ,dass es ein ganz ordentliches Kürzungsdisaster im MoD geben wird.

Und da fragen die sich wo das Geld hingeht.
Das sind ca. 55000 Mann die im Einsatz sind, also fast die Hälft der Britischen Armee. Zum Irak, Ich dachte das Britische Truppen der BFG dort wären, also einige doppelt aufgezählt wurden.:daumen:

8'800 Mann im Irak? Sind da ev. nur die Soldaten des Heeres brücksichtigt? Gemäss den letzten Pressemeldungen war immer von 11'000 Mann die Rede. Dies ist auch in der aktuellen Aufstellung von Globalsecurity so aufgeführt?

Wobei zwei Frigaten und ein Hydrographisches Erkundungsschiff keine 2200 Mann haben, sondern eher 400. Jedoch hat GB schnell nach dem Krieg Truppen abgezogen.

Wobei ich die Truppen in Deutschland oder auf Zypern nicht als im Einsatz bezeichnen würde. Diese sind dort ja permanent und auf Dauer, mit Familien, stationiert. Dann sieht sie Zahl schon wieder etwas freundlicher aus.
