Und man könnte noch anmerken, dass es (meines Wissens) Netanjahu war, der als einer der ersten, als er die Regierung Albanese ansonsten scharf kritisierte für ihren Umgang mit Antisemitismus in Australien, es betonte, dass der Passant, der einen der Attentäter entwaffnete und so schlimmeres verhinderte, Muslim war.
Er ging dabei ein enormes Risiko ein und wurde wohl von dem zweiten Attentäter auch danach angeschossen.

Die Täter sollen ein 50-jähriger Vater und sein 24-jähriger Sohn gewesen sein, beide sollen (je nach Quelle) pakistanische oder libanesische Wurzeln haben. Der Vater ist wohl der tote Attentäter, der Sohn wurde niedergeschossen von der Polizei und liegt in kritischem Zustand im Krankenhaus.
Lt. verschiedenen Quellen soll zumindest der Vater Mitglied in einem "gun club" gewesen sein und sechs Schusswaffen sowie eine Jagdlizenz legal besessen haben.
