Al-Qaeda Threatens to Assassinate Iran’s Quds Force Commander

TEHRAN (FNA)- The Al-Qaeda terrorist organization threatened to assassinate Commander of Iran's Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Quds Force General Qassem Soleimani.

The warning was issued in a statement by the al-Qaeda, in which the terrorist group claimed that it has sent two of its forces to Iran to accomplish the mission.

“We will not assassinate the commander of Iran’s Quds Force by gunshots but we intend to kill him by a suicide attack,” the statement claimed.

Am Freitag hatte Reuters gemeldet, dass Russland mit dem Iran über einen Öl-Deal verhandle, wonach 500 000 Barrel iranisches Öl im Tausch gegen russische Waren und Ausrüstung geliefert werden sollen. Nach Agenturangaben hoffen die beiden Seiten, in nächster Zeit ein Abkommen zu schließen.

Der iranische Ölminister Akbar Nematollahi hat inzwischen die Meldung über einen solchen Deal zwischen dem Iran und Russland dementiert.
