Ja, und deswegen kann ich auch nun nach elf Jahren hier wieder mal was in diesen Strang stellen...

Italien hat offenbar vier Helikopter nach Somalia geliefert, wobei sich hier die Lieferung auf die Bundesrepublik Somalia im Süden bezieht, der Norden ist ja als Somaliland quasi ein abgesplittertes Irgendwas...

Somalia möchte Akinci UCAV aus der Türkei beschaffen. Im Gegensatz zur Bayraktar TB-2 kann die Akinci eine viel größere Waffenlast tragen z.B intelligente Bomben der Teber, KGK, HGK und der Gözde Serie. Ein weiterer Vorteil der Akinci ist das die Drohne über SATCOM verfügt, damit kann sie außerhalb der Reichweite des Datenlinks eingesetzt werden. Die Beschaffung dieser Drohne steigert die Fähigkeiten der somalischen Armee im Kampf gegen die Al-Shabab.

Raising the Bar: Somalia Procures Akıncı UCAVs From Baykar TurDef
Somalia will reportedly receive an undisclosed number of Bayraktar Akıncı UCAVs, which have greater firepower than Bayraktar TB2 armed UAVs in use.

Wall of Africa Journal reported the procurement of the Akıncı UCAV to add more to the Somali’s UAV fleet. Bayraktar TB2s in use with Somalia’s armed forces have already given an edge in counter-terrorism operations against the Al-Shabab terrorist organisation with their armed ISR capability.

The addition of Akıncı UCAV can allow Somalia to perform larger-scale operations, considering the fact that Akıncı has a wide portfolio of munitions heavier than MAM-L. These mainly include 250 to 2000 lb general-purpose bombs with various guidance kits (HGK, LGK, TEBER, KGK...). More powerful munitions mean Somali can target important buildings utilised by the terrorist organisation.

Somalia denkt über die Anschaffung von T129 ATAK Hubschraubern nach - dazu zwei einhalb Anmerkungen:
1.: Somalia war bisher das Armenhaus Ostafrikas - woher haben die das Geld?
(Anmerkung: was ist drann an Gerüchten, dass Israel mit US-Unterstützung Palästinenser u.a. nach Somalia absiedeln will?)
2.: Keines der genannten armen Aufnahmeländer würde das ohne massive Gegenleistungen bzw. finanzielle Unterstützung machen. Wenn das Israel oder die USA finanzieren, müsste man eigentlich den Erwerb von US-Produkten erwarten, und seien es von alten gebrauchten Cobras
(Anmerkung: Das US Marine Corps hat die AH-1W SuperCobra 2020 ausgemustert, betreibt aber die AH-1Z Viper mit Vierblattrotor mit gelenklosem Rotorkopf weiterhin - da müssten doch noch einige Maschinen aufzutreiben sein)
und jetzt
1/2: dass die Türkei seit Jahren regionale Ambitionen auch und gerade in Somalia hat, ist klar - wenn diese Ambitionen mit israelischem oder US-Geld finanziert wären, dann würde den Türken ein Coup gelingen
