Zitat:Iran expels three Kuwaiti diplomats
Sat Apr 9, 2011 9:34PM

The Islamic Republic of Iran has expelled three Kuwaiti diplomats in retaliation for the Persian Gulf emirate's decision to expel three Iranian diplomats.

On April 2, Kuwait expelled three Iranian diplomats of the Iranian Embassy in Kuwait City, alleging that they had links to a spy network.

Kuwait claimed that a number of its officers have been gathering information about the US military bases in Kuwait and passing it on to Iran, an allegation that the Islamic Republic has rejected as baseless.

Zitat:US and Saudi Arabia discuss Iran 'meddling'

Gulf countries accuse Iran of interference in the affairs of Bahrain and Kuwait in a campaign to destabilise the region.
Last Modified: 07 Apr 2011 00:21

Gates said Iran was looking to "exploit" the unrest in Bahrain, where protest have been met with violence [Reuters]
US Secretary of Defence Robert Gates has held talks in Riyadh with Saudi King Abdullah, with both sides concerned by Iranian intentions in the region.

Saudi Arabia and other Gulf Arab states have traded accusations with Iran of meddling and interference, especially over the tiny Sunni-ruled, Shia-majority kingdom of Bahrain that lies to Saudi Arabia's east and is a key US ally and home to the US Fifth Fleet.

"We talked about developments all over the region, obviously talked about Iran," Gates said following the meeting on Wednesday.

"We talked about how to prevent disruptive actions and extremist organisations trying to take advantages of the turbulences in the region," he added.

Zitat:‘Iran must study GCC statement’ ‘Warning not deterrence’

DOHA, May 11, (KUNA): The Kuwaiti MP Shuaib Al-Muwaizri called on Iran here on Wednesday to study the final statement of GCC consultative summit issued on Tuesday.
He added in remarks to KUNA on the sidelines of his participation in Doha 11th forum that kicked off last Monday that the final statement came in accordance with hopes and aspiration of Gulf people, and tackled the dangers and challenges facing Gulf security.
He added that this statement is not a “deterrence but is a warning because we disapprove what Iran is doing toward the Gulf states.” The people of Gulf countries share strong deep rooted ties, and are loyal to their homelands, the MP stressed.
Issues discussed at the summit focused on the future of the region, strategies of development besides others, he said.
He praised the Qatar’s wise policy in the fields of economics and politics, that allowed it to host such events.
Earlier, leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states voiced Tuesday evening concern over the persistent interferences by Iran in the domestic affairs of their countries.
Iran conspires against the national security of the GCC countries through fomenting sectarian sedition among their citizens in a flagrant violation of their sovereignty and independence, the principles of neighborliness, the international laws, the UN Charter and the charger of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC), according to a press release issued after the 13th GCC consultative summit here.
Hailing the return of stability and calm to the Kingdom of Bahrain, the GCC renewed full support to the Kingdom in the face of the external threats.
The protection of security and stability of a GCC country is a collective responsibility and an integral part of the GCC security based on the provisions of joint defense treaty. Therefore, the Peninsula Shield Force entered Bahrain to help restore the country’s stability.

Zitat:Senior MP Rejects Iran's Friendship with Al-Khalifa Regime

TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior Iranian lawmaker rejected Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa's proposal for the resumption of friendship between his government and Iran, and said Tehran would never establish close relations with puppet regimes.

"We will not shake your hands as long as you fulfill the US missions," Deputy Head of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Hossein Ebrahimi said on Wednesday.

Meantime, he underlined that friendship with all the regional countries sets the policy and strategy of the Islamic Republic, but "these friendships are based on clear factors, and respect for nations' rights is one of them".

"We expect the Bahraini rulers to respect the rights of their nation and not to prefer Americans to their own people," Ebrahimi underlined.

Zitat:UAE leader says Iran will go if Israel hit

Published: Dec. 6, 2011 at 8:31 AM

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- If Iran attacks Israel with nuclear weapons, retaliation is inevitable, the prime minister and vice president of the United Arab Emirates predicted.
Sheik Mohammed bin Rashi al-Maktoum downplayed fears of a nuclear Iran in an interview on CNN, saying Tehran would find the ultimate weapon of little use.

"What can Iran do with a nuclear weapon? … For example, will they hit Israel? How many Palestinians will die? And you think if Iran hits Israel, their cities will be safe? They will be gone the next day," the sheik said.

"I don't believe Iran will develop a nuclear weapon."

The UAE lies across the mouth of the Persian Gulf from Iran, with some 50 miles separating the two countries.

TEHRAN (FNA)- A senior Iranian Armed Forces commander predicted that the Bahraini people will gradually start armed resistance against the country's Saudi-backed dictators due to the intensified clampdown on protesters by the Al Khalifa regime.

"After the intensification of the Al Khalifa regime's pressures on the Muslim and oppressed people of Bahrain and the serious decision of the county's youths for starting a sacred defense, it is predicted that the Islamic revolution of the Bahraini people will gradually enter a phase of sporadic military, guerilla and irregular operations," Head of the Foundation for the Remembrance and Promotion of the Holy Defense's Values Brigadier General Mirfeisal (Seyed Mohammad) Baqerzadeh told FNA.

Tatsächlich würde ich "any location" wörtlich verstehen.

@Erich:
