Siper Product-1 Leaves Behind the 100th Firing Test TurDef
A briefing on the Siper Product-1 air defence system for Turkish Minister of Defence Yaşar Güler included that more than 100 firing tests have been conducted.



The briefing is included in footage of Yaşar Güler’s visit to the newly opened Air and Missile Defence Simulator Centre in Air Technical Schools Command in İzmir, where the Minister of Defence inspected the air defence systems. It is understood from the number of firing tests that the system was tested in different scenarios.

Secretary of Turkish Defence Industries Haluk Görgün announced the entry of the Siper Product-1 long-range air defence system into the inventory in October 2024. The deal for production was signed towards the end of 2023.

The first Defence Industry Executive Committee of 2025 was convened on May 13th under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s chairmanship at the Presidential Complex.

According to the official statement, the meeting included discussions and agreements upon the following:

· Swarm-capable kamikaze unmanned aerial and naval vehicle projects,

· Pursuant to the doctrine that unmanned combat aircraft will play a critical role in future warfare and military operations, and with the objective of carrying out air-to-air combat, air-to-ground strike, and air defence suppression missions, the UNMANNED COMBAT AIRCRAFT project,

· Mass manufacturing projects for low, medium, and high-altitude air defence systems,

· Projects regarding the mass manufacturing of long-range missile systems, which will enhance the firepower of Türkiye,

· Projects for missile development, which will act as a force multiplier,

· The TF-2000 AIR DEFENCE DESTROYER project, which will have advanced air defence capabilities,

· NATIONAL SUBMARINE (MİLDEN) project, which will enable Türkiye to join the ranks of the few countries capable of designing and building their own submarines,

· Projects to improve our country’s autonomous access to space,

· The T625 GÖKBEY Helicopter mass production project to meet the need for an additional light-weight class, general-purpose helicopter,

· Projects for procurement and development to improve electronic warfare capabilities,

· Projects to protect critical facilities and regions from UAV threats,

· Procurement projects for additional armed unmanned aerial vehicles and related subsystem requirements,

· Procurement projects for armoured personnel carriers and recovery vehicles, and other ground vehicles,

· Projects for kamikaze ground vehicles,

· Procurement projects for various simulation and electro-optic systems.

The first steel-cutting ceremonies for TF-2000 and MİLDEN were announced in January 2025.

Die Türkei hat die zweitgrößte Armee unter den NATO-Staaten. Der ehemalige Offizier der amerikanischen Spezialeinheiten und jetzige Militärexperte Steve Balestrieri wies darauf hin, dass die Türkei über 2.200 Panzer verfügt und zukünftig noch mehr besitzen könnte.

Derzeit hat die türkische Armee etwa 2.200 Panzer, darunter amerikanische M48, M60 Patton und M60 Sabra (von Israel modifiziert) sowie deutsche Leopard 1 und Leopard 2A4 in verschiedenen Varianten. In den kommenden Jahren werden Altay-Panzer, das Produkt der türkischen Rüstungsindustrie, zu dieser Flotte hinzukommen.

Nach einigen Jahren der Verzögerung gewinnt das Entwicklungsprogramm des türkischen Panzers Altay an Schwung. Die ersten Lieferungen an die türkische Armee, die sich bereits jetzt mit der größten Anzahl an Panzern unter den europäischen NATO-Mitgliedern rühmen kann, werden im dritten Quartal 2025 beginnen. Die Türkei plant, letztendlich sogar 1.000 Altay-Panzer zu produzieren.

Anfangs wird der Altay T1 produziert. Bei seiner Konstruktion hat sich die türkische Industrie entschieden, die Erfahrungen des südkoreanischen Konzerns Hyundai Rotem zu nutzen, um einige Probleme zu lösen. Daher wird der Altay T1 einige Lösungen aus den K2 Black Panther-Panzern übernehmen. Dazu gehören der DV27K-Motor und das EST15K-Getriebe. Die Hauptbewaffnung wird wiederum eine in der Türkei produzierte Variante der südkoreanischen Kanone CN08 mit einem Kaliber von 120 mm darstellen.
Aus den zuvor veröffentlichten Zeitplänen geht hervor, dass bis 2028 knapp 100 Stück Altay T1 produziert werden. Danach werden die Produktionsbänder Altay T2 (ungefähr 200 Exemplare) und später Altay T3 (von denen es die meisten geben soll) produzieren.
Insgesamt plant die Türkei, sogar 1.000 Altay-Panzer zu produzieren. Gleichzeitig hofft man, dass im Falle von Altay T2 und Altay T3 ausschließlich auf Komponenten aus türkischen Werken zurückgegriffen wird. Jede weitere Version des Panzers soll Verbesserungen bei den wichtigsten Komponenten enthalten.

Und ich bin zugleich gespannt, ob die älteren Leo, die ja wohl ausgemustert werden sollen, dann den Weg in die Ukraine finden ...

Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen das die Türkei noch mehr Panzer besitzen soll. Der Altay wird nach und nach die älteren Typen ersetzen. Den Kpz bestand 1 zu 1 zu ersetzen oder mehr den Kpz Bestand zu erhöhen, dafür müssen die Produktionskapazitäten erhöht werden. Zweiten sind moderne Kpz erheblich teuer geworden, weil immer mehr Technik eingebaut werden muss z.B active Protection oder Schutz gegen FPV Bedrohungen. Ohne Embargos hätte der Altay schon im Jahr 2018 in Serienproduktion gehen können: Seit der Offensive gegen die YPG im norden Syrien Anfang des Jahres 2018, hat Deutschland keine Ausfuhrgenehmigungen für MTU Triebwerke erteilt, dass war der Hauptgrund warum die Serienprodktion nicht früher begonnen hat.

Turkish Special Forces have used their newest equipment during the Anadolu-2025 international exercise, with participation from 19 countries and spectatorship from three countries.

Turkish Gendarmerie Forces Receive Three Akıncı B UCAVs TurDef
Turkish Gendarmerie announced that the acceptance of three Akıncı B UCAVs as one system was completed in Baykar’s training facility located in Tekirdağ, Çorlu.

This marks the first delivery of Akıncı UCAVs to the Turkish Gendarmerie, which is operating a fleet of Bayraktar TB2 in a considerable size. Like Bayraktar TB2, Akıncı B UCAVs delivered to the Gendarmerie are in armed configuration as seen from the hardpoints.

Compared to Bayraktar TB2, Akıncı B can carry multiple sensors, which are also more potent thanks to the payload capacity and onboard power generation. Thus, it can be said that the Turkish Gendarmerie has received a level-up in terms of ISR capabilities.

The Turkish Gendarmerie’s operations not only include law enforcement but also counter-terrorism in a closer fashion to the army, compared to the police. Akıncı B UCAVs, coupled with the fleet of T129 ATAK attack helicopters, will ensure a heavier firepower and ISR support required in high-intensity combat situations for said operations.

Die Türkei hat mit der Talay eine neuartige Kamikaze-Drohne vorgestellt, die speziell für den Einsatz über der Wasseroberfläche entwickelt wurde. Präsentiert wurde das unbemannte Fluggerät vom Hersteller Solid Aero auf der internationalen Rüstungsmesse IDEF 2025 in Istanbul.

Alleine die Überschrift ist schon sehr irreführend, die Talay ist eine Kamikazedrohne die nach dem Ekroplan Prinzip aufgebaut ist und über entsprechend gute Tiefflugeigenschaften verfügt. Angetrieben wird die Drohne durch zwei Elektromotoren und verfügt über eine Reichweite von 300 km, während die Reichweite des Datenlink 200 km beträgt. Der Sprengkopf den die Talay Drohne mitführt wiegt gerade mal 30 kg, damit lässt sich kein Kriegsschiff in Größe einer Fregatte versenken, trotzdem ließe sich damit ein Schaden anrichten und die Drohne kann zusammen mit anderen Waffensystemen, wie AShM dazu dienen die gegnerische Verteidigung zu übersättigen.

The Ministry of Defence confirmed the Bayraktar TB3 armed naval UAV has been inducted into the Land Forces Command, marking its first official deployment.

The Turkish Ministry of Defence (Turkish MoD) has announced that the Bayraktar TB3 armed naval UAV has officially joined the inventory of the Land Forces Command. The announcement was made by Rear Admiral Zeki Aktürk, Press and Public Relations Adviser of the ministry, during the weekly briefing.

Aktürk highlighted ongoing efforts to strengthen the effectiveness and deterrence of the Turkish Armed Forces with domestically developed systems: “With the weapons and systems produced by our national defence industry, we continue to enhance the effectiveness and deterrence of our Armed Forces. In this context, the inspection and acceptance activities of multiple Bayraktar TB3s have been completed and they have been inducted into the Land Forces Command.”

The statement created surprise within defence circles, as the first deliveries of the TB3 had been widely expected to go to the Navy for deployment aboard the TCG Anadolu. Instead, the Land Forces became the first service to field the advanced platform.

The TB3 is built as the naval version of TB2 with folding wings to enable carrier-based operations.

Boğaziçi Savunma delivered the İLTER J350 Drone Detection and Neutralisation System to Turkish Land Forces.

During its weekly news briefing, the Turkish Ministry of National Defence (Turkish MoD) said that the delivery had been made. The İLTER J350, made by Boğaziçi Savunma, is a full defence against the rising threat of unmanned aerial systems on the modern battlefield.

The device works in the 400–6000 MHz frequency band and can find up to 30 drones at once using protocol-based technologies. It can find signals coming from different directions up to 10 km away for analogue video transmissions, 2 km away for digital video signals, and 5 km away for command-and-control signals. The built-in radar can follow micro, mini, and micro-UAVs from 5.5 km to 20 km away.

The İLTER J350 has extensive jamming and spoofing characteristics that let it jam up to 12 channels at once between 400 and 8000 MHz. It can also change its output power up to 750W. Using an omnidirectional antenna, it can jam GNSS signals up to 20 km away. With a directional antenna, it can jam signals up to 30 km away.

The system is intended to be set up quickly, and one person can do it in less than five minutes. You may power it with grid energy, batteries, or an optional generator, so it will work in all weather.

The İLTER J350 weighs around 560 kg and has a 3D Pulse Doppler radar, the ability to spoof, and a remote control that is easy to operate. You can control several units from one place, which makes it easy to secure important infrastructure and front-line deployments.
