Die Türkei wird echt zum Giganten im Rüstungsbereich. Immer wieder faszinierend. Schade bloß das sie es immer noch nicht hinbekommen die Lira stabil zu halten. Im Angesicht der weltweiten Instabilität wäre die Türkei DER Kandidat für einen EU Beitritt. Zumindest für mich, die grünen Teetrinker in der EU haben da ja immer noch Probleme mit der nennen wir es etwas robusteren Innenpolitik im Land. Meiner Meinung nach etwas das sie nicht zu interessieren hat, genauso wenig wie sie einem Anatolischen Bergbauern erklären zu hätten, er solle jetzt gendern oder jemanden total toll finden der sich selbst als schwulen Mann aber gefangen im Körper einer Frau indentifiziert und seinen Hund heiraten möchte. Ich vermute an genau diesem Blödsinn scheitert es da mal wieder.

Die Inflation ist eine Folge der Industrialisierung der Türkei, in Folge benötigt das Land für die eigene Industrie Energie und Rohstoffe. Diese gibt es nicht ausreichend im eigenen Land, wodurch diese gegen ausländische Währungen aus dem Ausland beschafft werden müssen ! Das trägt zu einem Handelsbilanz Defizit bei, was eine Intention zur Folge hat !

Es gibt in Deutschland auch genug Menschen die LGBTQ ablehnen, dass ist kein spezielles Problem der Gesellschaften aus dem Nahen Osten ! Insbesondere bei rechten Kreisen die der AFD nahestehen ist dies der Fall !


Zurück zum Thema: Die Türkei kann insbesondere im Bereich der unbemannten Systeme Europa schnelle Übergangslösungen anbieten um etwaige Fähigkeitslücken zu füllen. Eine Zusammenarbeit mit einzelnen Staaten gibt es bereits, siehe das Joint Venture zwischen Baykar und Leonardo.

Baykar’s unmanned fighter’s third prototype performed turns with high bank angles in the Afterburner Assisted Takeoff-Maneuvering System Identification test.

The manoeuvres performed in the recent test that involved takeoff with afterburners can be described as sharper (To put it in another way, more like a fighter jet).

These tests are important steps in bringing Kızılelma into a phase where its combat capabilities are tested. Of course, said phase would include the tests of the AESA radar and the munitions (Gökdoğan BVRAAM, Bozdoğan WVRAAM, Çakır cruise missile, and various guided bombs).

Kızılelma has been designed with an emphasis on air-to-air combat capabilities, with the layout being not too far off from that of a fifth-generation fighter.

TÜMOSAN stated in its 2024 Activity Report that ARES Shipyards’ ULAQ 35 armed USV to be delivered to the Turkish Navy is using TÜMOSAN’s marine engine.
The activity report might be teasing a new variant in the ULAQ USV family, which currently consists of ULAQ PSV (Port Security), ULAQ 12 (ASW and ASuW variants), and ULAQ 15 ASuW (Armed with four Çakır cruise missiles).


As the end number in the ULAQ family’s designation system corresponds to the hull length (For example, ULAQ 12 measures 12 m), ULAQ 35 might be a larger variant with greater weapons load, more capable sensors, and a longer operational radius with a length of 35 m.

Baykar’s Bayraktar TB3 STOL UCAV fired the laser-guided configuration of ROKETSAN’s UAV-122 aeroballistic missile, hitting a fixed sea target at 50 km range.

Following the successful test of the MAM-T munition, Bayraktar TB3’s second tested munition has become UAV-122, developed from TRG-122 122 mm guided artillery rocket.

The sea target with dimensions of 6x6 m was laser designated by a Bayraktar TB2 armed UAV, and the UAV-122 missile guided by laser designation at the terminal stage hit the target 50 km away with a deviation of less than two meters based on the footage. This is a display of the missile’s precision at a range very close to the stated maximum range of 55 km.

Baykar Prepares for Jet Engine Production in Samsun TurDef
Baykar’s recent investment is for the production of various gas turbine engines in a facility being set up inside the Samsun Tekkeköy OSB industrial zone.

The facility will be built in a 300-acre area reserved for Baykar. Baykar has had plans to step into the engine sector and took the first steps with the development of the BM100 internal combustion engine for the Bayraktar TB2 armed UAV.

However, the ultimate goal of Baykar is the production of gas turbine engines for its new line of platforms (Kızılelma unmanned fighter, Akıncı UCAV...), for which Baykar has been forming a workforce.

Beyond technical expertise, a significant production force is required for complicated gas turbine engines, which have highly demanding standards for component tolerances.

LAAD 2025, being held in the Brazilian capital, Rio de Janeiro, has seen extensive participation from many Turkish defence firms. TUSAŞ’s participation has left its mark with a MoU for strategic cooperation, which involves exploring opportunities in E-Jet E2 airliners’ production.



TUSAŞ is already producing structural components for various airliners and cargo aircraft from different origins (Boeing, Airbus...), and this MoU signals what kind of cooperation might come out.

E-Jet E2 is Embraer’s new line of regional airliners with different passenger capacities ranging from 90 to 146 passengers. E2 is a further development of the original E-Jet design, which was produced in more than a thousand units. Improvements of E-Jet E2 include significantly lower fuel consumption (Owing to a higher aspect ratio for wings, geared turbofan engines, and aerodynamic refinements) and lowered maintenance costs.

Baykar has added a project to its portfolio regarding the conceptual design of an unmanned cargo aircraft on its official site, which will take the Akıncı UCAV as basis.

Baykar has initiated a project titled “Conceptual Design of an Unmanned Cargo Aircraft with Considerations of Alternative Design and Production Methods”. The title indicates a sign that Baykar is exploring the possibilities of alternative platform types after establishing a line of armed UAVs/UCAVs.

The description of the project states that Akıncı UCAV will be taken as the basis for the conceptual design of the unmanned cargo aircraft.

What Could It Look Like?
Akıncı UCAV is Baykar's current heavy-hitter UCAV platform of its UAV line, with an MTOW of 6 tonnes and various engine options, including two 850 hp turboprop engines.

Knowing that Baykar intends to base the design on Akıncı, one might expect a platform that can carry well beyond one ton, as the UCAV can carry 1.5+ tonnes of munitions in its current configuration.

The “Cargo-Akıncı” UAV’s conceptual design will surely involve a new fuselage with generous amounts of empty volume for cargo carriage and a new wing design with a larger area to maximise the lift.

The powerplant might be common with the Akıncı UCAV, with a preference for turboprop engines at the higher end among the options.

The information regarding the radar development project states that an S-band early warning radar with distance, speed, and direction finding capability will be developed for aircraft.

This is not only the first entry of Baykar into the radar development but also a signal of plans to develop UAV-based airborne early warning capability.

Possibility of Joint Development
While Baykar is no stranger to radars on UAVs with the recent integration and test flights of ASELSAN’s MURAD 100-A AESA radar onboard Akıncı UCAV, the firm would be forming its first radar division with this project as no radar development inside Baykar has taken place.

The recent Baykar-Leonardo joint venture might have a role in the development of the radar as the Italian partner is a long-standing developer of various aircraft radars like the Osprey family and Gabiano.

Die Kampfdrohne Kizilelma soll u.a Chaff und Flare Werfer erhalten, diese Maßnahme trägt zur Verbesserung der Überlebensfähigkeit bei, wenn die Drohne von Raketen verfolgt wird. Es ist auch geplant das Kizilelma in der Lage sein soll in der Luft betankt zu werden.

As the tests of the Kızılelma unmanned fighter are ongoing with the third prototype, Baykar disclosed the development of various features for the next phases.


Baykar has revealed the development of various new capabilities for the Kızılelma unmanned fighter on its official website. The projects are Chaff/Flare Dispenser and Internal Weapons Bay Lowering Mechanism, mentioned explicitly as being for Kızılelma; Air-to-Air Missile Launcher and Air-to-Air Refuelling System R&D predicted to be in the same direction.

Chaff/Flare Dispenser
Chaff/Flare Dispenser will allow Kızılelma to use dispensed countermeasures to help with evading incoming missiles. Chaff is used against radar-guided missiles by disrupting the radar feedback through highly reflective chunks, while flares emit heat to fool infrared-guided missiles.


As an unmanned fighter with a layout emphasising air-to-air combat, Kızılelma has to be capable of protecting itself from enemy missiles, as stealth does not guarantee that the aircraft will not be fired upon, especially with advancing sensor technology.

Some apertures distributed around the fuselage have been observed on the third and fourth prototypes of Kızılelma, thought to be missile warning or situational awareness systems.
