eigentlich rentiert es sich nicht, für einzelne Waffensysteme wie die Frage "F-35 Jetfighter sales to Taiwan?" einen eigenen Strang auf zu machen. Ich hab diesen Strang daher in "Luftwaffe Taiwans" umbenannt. Und ergänze den jetzt mit einem Ausflug zur Armee.
Kampfhubschrauber werden ja üblicherweise von der Armee, also den Landstreitkräften betrieben. Und wenn man schon Apaches kauft, dann dürften die auch in Taiwan in die Armee eingegliedert werden.

Ich denke, das ist eine Reaktion Taiwans auf die zunehmenden amphibischen Kapazitäten Pekings, ausgedrückt durch die neuen Docklandungsschiffe und den chinesichen Kampfhubschrauber WZ-10 für den wir hier *klick* schon einen Bericht haben und nicht zuletzt durch Chinas Trägerprogramm.

Mit den Apache-Kampfhubschraubern lassen sich Landungen und Brückenköpfe gut bekämpfen.

WASHINGTON -- The U.S. State Department has approved the sale of an anti-tank mine-laying system to Taiwan amid the rising military threat from China. The department on Wednesday said the Volcano system and all related equipment would cost an estimated $180 million. It’s capable of scattering anti-tank and anti-personnel mines from either a ground vehicle or helicopter. The announcement indicated Taiwan would be buying the vehicle-borne version, the kind of general-use weapon many experts believe Taiwan needs more of to dissuade or repel a potential Chinese invasion.

TADTE 2023: Taiwan develops new rifle to replace T91 rifles

The Taiwanese Ministry of National Defense's (MND's) Armaments Bureau has developed a new 5.56 mm rifle called XT112 assault rifle to replace the Republic of China Army's (RoCA's) in-service T91 assault rifles.

The bureau showcased the rifle at the Taipei Aerospace & Defense Technology Exhibition 2023 (TADTE 2023) held in Taipei from 14 to 16 September. Under development by the 205th Arsenal of the Armaments Bureau, which is based in the southern city of Kaohsiung, the new rifle is designed to provide enhanced performance and stability over the T91. Frank Wang, the gun engineer from the 205th Arsenal, told Janes at the show that the barrel accuracy of the XT112 is 30% higher than the T91. The new gun has reduced weight and vibrations as its development methodology is different from the T91, Frank said. According to the Armaments Bureau marketing material, the rifle has four shooting modes: safe, semi‐automatic, two‐round burst, and fully automatic.

TADTE 2023: BAE Systems offers M109A7 for Taiwan's howitzer requirement

BAE Systems has offered its M109A7 155 mm tracked self-propelled howitzer (SPH) to the Republic of China Army (RoCA) to meet the service's howitzer requirement, a spokesperson for BAE Systems told Janes at the Taipei Aerospace & Defense Technology Exhibition 2023 (TADTE 2023) held in Taipei from 14 to 16 September 2023. “The RoCA operates nearly 200 M109A2s and M109A5s. The service wanted to buy [the] M109A6 for its requirement of howitzers. The US also approved the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) to Taiwan of 40 M109A6s in 2021. But the sale was cancelled due to unknown reasons,” the spokesperson added. Now the RoCA is willing to buy the M109A7, which is equipped with a bigger chassis than the M109A6, the spokesperson said.
