Tehran, Aug 14 - The high council of atomic energy approved the second phase of Bushehr atomic power plant with a capacity of 1,000 megawatts.
The session, which was chaired by first vice president Mohammad-Reza Aref, also reviewed a report by Iran's Atomic Energy Organization on selecting the best location for the power plant and permitted the agency to take necessary steps to equip it with required accessories to expand the use of nuclear technology in the country.
The organization has also been authorized to develop systems to sterilize foodstuff and medical equipment for use in industrial units.
