KAAN P1 Prototype with Refinements Performs Taxi Test TurDef
TUSAŞ announced that the second prototype of the KAAN fifth-generation fighter with refinements, designated as P1, completed its taxi test in Ankara.

KAAN’s P1 prototype, as the more advanced follow-up to the P0 prototype that was used in the maiden flight, completed its taxi test at TUSAŞ facilities located in Kahramankazan, Ankara, as announced by TUSAŞ.

P1 prototype has refinements when it comes to aerodynamics and RCS management, with a slightly different form.

In terms of provisions, the new prototype has increased useful volume with a new landing gear placement and seemingly stations for the integration of sensors or electronic warfare systems.

KAAN’s P1 prototype is expected to take on a more active test flight schedule, which will push the performance towards the targeted specifications.

On the other hand, P4 to P6 prototypes will have a closer configuration to the production version with more thorough system integration.
