Interessante Neuigkeit: da die Luftangriffe im Irak im Verhältnis zum Aufwand so wenig Wirkung zeigten und zeigen wird immer mehr Raketenartillerie dort eingesetzt, welche auch von US Personal direkt bedient werden soll. Damit stellen die USA nicht nur de facto eine Luftwaffe für den Irak sondern über ihre HIMARS Werfer auch Raketenartillerie.

In Kombination mit entsprechenden Feuerleitkräften (meist wohl US Sondereinheiten) ist dieses Feuer wesentlich effektiver und günstiger als die Luftangriffe - weshalb es folgerichtig auch ständig ausgeweitet wird.
Meiner Überzeugung nach eine Gute Sache und der richtige Weg. Und es zeigt einmal mehr die immense Wichtigkeit einer möglichst starken Artillerie auf.
