TEHRAN ,Safar 19/Jan 24 (IINA)-Qatar's Minister of Culture and Heritage Hamad bin Abd al-Aziz al-Kawari, who is visiting Iran's holy city of Qom, called for closer cultural ties among Islamic countries, Iran and Qatar in particular.

"Consolidation of cultural relations among the Islamic states, particularly Iran and Qatar, can further strengthen this element (unity)," al-Kuwari noted. He stressed his country's support for stronger unity among Muslims, and called on all Muslim states to identify and boost their points of commonality.
Iran and Qatar have recently augmented efforts to further expand ties and cooperation in all the different political, economic, defense and security fields. The two Persian Gulf littoral states recently signed several protocols to increase mutual cooperation, specially in different areas of security.
