Möchte mal sehen ob dein Produkt aufgrund von deinen eingebauten Fehlern nicht funktioniert.

Software wird üblicherweise mit vielen bekannten Bugs ausgeliefert. Wer behauptet, seine Software wäre davon nicht betroffen lügt und / oder ist Vertriebler. Die Gründe dafür habe ich Dir genannt. Dass jeder meiner Kollegen stets neue Fehler einbaut, ist völlig normal. Das liegt in der Natur der Sache.

Eben, beschreib mal wo es bei eurer Umsetzung scheitert. Das theoretische Schwadronieren bringt doch nichts.

Diese Forderung zeigt bereits, dass Du das Geschäft im Ansatz nicht verstehst. Es geht garnicht darum, fehlerfreie Software zu produzieren. Das ist, ich wiederhole mich, insbesondere im kommerziellen Umfeld nicht möglich!

Die erfolgreiche Umsetzung kann also nur mit wirtschaftlichem Erfolg gleichgesetzt werden. Das ist, ich wiederhole mich abermals, ein systemimmanentes Problem. Es ist kein personen-, produkt- oder unternehmensspezifisches Problem.

Man muss ein Produkt auch verkaufen können, wenn man dich auf die Kunden loslassen würde, könnte man nichts absetzen.

Nein das könnte ich wirklich nicht und Gott sei dank muss ich mich nicht für sowas hergeben. Giechwohl bin ich wohl auch kein leichter Kunde.

Das Ziel besteht stets im Endeffekt darin, das Produkt auszuliefern

"Auch"?

du kannst doch dein Produkt nicht 100 Jahre entwickeln. Du musst das technisch machbare programmieren.

"Das technisch Machbare programmieren"? Das kann man sich als Ziel vielleicht in der Forschung auf die Fahnen schreiben, um dann am Ende halbgare Ideen zu präsentieren. Versuch das mal dem Management eines profitorientierten Unternehmens zu erklären. Man muss wirtschaftlich entwickeln, nichts anderes.

Bill Venners: You say in your book, The Pragmatic Programmer, that "the real world won't let us produce much that's perfect, particularly not bug-free software." Why is that?

Andy Hunt: It's economics. Look at some very solidly crafted code, for example, the space shuttle. The cost per line of code for the space shuttle is something like a thousand dollars per line. It's so expensive because of the amount of care that goes into specifying the code, reviewing the code, the whole process they use. It is understandable that if you're shooting up billion dollar spacecraft with human lives at stake, you're going to put a little bit of care into that software. But everything has its cost.

The space program has had its share of bugs. Various Mars probes have flown off into the weeds. Rockets have crashed. But nevertheless the space program has a pretty good track record on software quality, but at tremendous cost. You can't spend a thousand dollars per line of code in a dot com or even most major corporations. You simply can't afford that.

Dave Thomas: There is also a secondary impact to assuming you can actually write bug-free software. If you go in assuming that you can produce bug-free software, that attitude changes how you write the software. You tend to get arrogant, or at least complacent, about the actual code that you write. You'll say, "My code is going to be bug free. Therefore, I don't have to worry about this particular condition or that particular condition." The reality is that your code not going to be bug free, because you don't control the entire environment .
