TAIWAN – JAPAN (CHINA)
Taiwan is wary of an allegedly planned joint Japanese Navy / US Navy exercise that is to simulate retaking the Senkaku / Diaoyu islands in the event that China occupied them. Taiwan’s “claim over the islands is unquestionable” (rmks: as are the claims of both Japan and China). Exercise reportedly to take place immediately after US President Obama’s visit to Japan next month for an APEC forum.
