MOSCOW, Aug. 12 (Xinhuanet) -- Azerbaijan will send its troops to Iraq on Aug. 13 for a peacekeeping mission, Russian Interfax news agency reported.
The 150-strong Azerbaijani military continent, including 120 soldiers and 30 officers, will serve in the towns of Kirkuk, Najafand Kerbala, and will guard Muslim holy sites and vital facilities, Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry said.
They will be attached to the American contingent.
Earlier on Tuesday, the head of the defense ministry's department for military cooperation Ramiz Nadzhafov said the United States will bear related expenses of 3.5 million US dollars.Enditem
