In February China hit one of its old meteorological satellites with a missile it launched from earth. Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) Space Department President Uğur Murat Leloğlu sees this as a “we are ready to battle in space also” message, adding: “China's action was taken all over the world as an indicator that the star wars are about to start. China gave an “I can hit your satellites” warning to the United States and other countries.
