Growth rate of Iran defense products sale 75%

Iranian Defense Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar said that a 75% growth was observed for the first time in the sale of new defense products, IRNA reported.

Turning to some of the significant projects of the Defense Committee of the Ministry of Defense, he mentioned the design and production of jet boat as well as improvement in the wing and body, electrical systems, motor and supplies of 20 C-130 aircraft as among other achievements.

The minister said that priority is given to expansion of defense cooperation with Islamic, friendly and neighboring states as well as other technologically advanced countries by the Defense Diplomacy Committee of the Ministry of Defense.

Army Drill Will Test Hi-Tech Weaponry

TEHRAN, Aug. 16--Twelve divisions of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army will conduct a maneuver next Saturday in several southeastern provinces.
Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Qaraei, acting chief commander of the army, told a news conference on Wednesday the maneuver “Zarbat-e Zolfaqar“ has been planned to increase collaboration among operation units and combat readiness.
“The drill will use new and hi-tech heavy weaponry against the enemy and mobilize Basij (volunteer) forces in the form of operation units,“ ISNA quoted him as saying.
Referring to the army capabilities, Qaraei stressed that no army can withstand the Iranian army, the Islamic Revolution’s Guards Corps (IRGC) and Basij forces.
“We have manufactured bullets that can pierce any bulletproof vest,“ he said.
Qaraei noted that the Iranian Army can organize itself rapidly, adding that the army troops have been conducting strenuous drills under tough conditions.
