Protection against improvised explosive devices
It is not just in crisis-torn regions that improvised explosive devices (IEDs) form one of the most lethal weapons in the terrorist and insurgent arsenal: they are used around the world to kill and maim civilians, soldiers and law enforcement personnel. Until now there has been no effective means of countering them.

Rheinmetall now offers a mobile microwave system which is able to trigger an IED in a controlled explosion or prevent it from being remotely detonated by radio or mobile phone, depending on the type of bomb employed.
