LONDON, Jan 13 (IranMania) - A 20-member delegation from the German Embassy in Tehran visited the giant carmaker Iran Khodro, lauding the progress made in Iran's automotive industry in recent years.
According to Iran Khodro Group's Public Relations Office, the German team was impressed by the technological advancement of the robotic production line of the national car, Samand.
"Automotive industry is progressing rapidly in Iran," a member of the delegation said, stressing that Iran has a great potential to develop its auto industry

LONDON, Jan 7 (IranMania) - The German company KHD Humboldt Wedag will build two cement plants in Isfahan and Delijan, the economic magazine Wirtschaftsforum Nah-und Mittelost said Thursday.
According to IRNA, KHD Humboldt Wedag has been contracted by Iran`s Sarouj Isfahan Company to construct a cement production plant with a designed capacity of 2,000 t/d clinker.

LONDON, Dec 29 (IranMania) - Brazilian Ambassador to Tehran Luiz Antonio Fachini Gomez said the Latin American country is to construct a Volkswagen factory in Iran in 2005.
The diplomat told ISNA that the initiative would be taken in partnership with Germany's giant automaker Volkswagen.
He said Brazil's exports to Iran amounted to over $1 bln in 2004, adding that Tehran accounts for almost one-third of Brasilia's economic transactions with the entire Middle East.

The deal was signed in Bam, which was hit by a devastating earthquake on December 26, 2003. As part of the deal, an automobile manufacturing plant was scheduled to be built in the city by the end of 2004.
Volkswagen plans to produce more than 20,000 cars per year in Iran. The factory will produce VW's Golf model, with parts imported from Brazil.
