Iran's 1st two-engined copter flies

Tehran, Dec 6 - The first Iranian-made two-engined chopper took off in Tehran on Monday.

The flight was observed by First-Vice President Mohammad-Reza Aref, and Defense Minister Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani.

The two-engined Tilebomb 212 chopper is the first chopper made by Iranian enginner with some 70 percent of its parts designed and manufactured in Iran.

The helicopter is designed for security flights as well as various missions on the surface of water.

The copter has been built so that in cases an engine goes suddenly off, the flight would continue without disruption on a single engine.

Britain, France and the United States are among the manufacturers of such helicopters.
