Israel Wants To Buy More Than 100 Armored Cars

Israel wants to buy 103 armored cars that were manufactured in the United States under license from a German firm to patrol the occupied Palestinian territories, the Financial Times Deutschland reported Oct. 6.

The U.S. firm Textron is authorized to make the Dingo 2 armored car on behalf of the German firm Krauss-Maffei, the paper reported.

Talks between Israel and the United States could begin after the expiration Oct. 8 of a deadline for the U.S. Congress to raise objections to such a deal.
