Zitat: Iran saysto re-open nuclear talks with Europe big three soon
Tehran, July 14, IRNA -- Iran on Wednesday refreshed vows to continue
dialogue with Europe over its nuclear energy plans, stressing that
France, Germany and Britain have asked to arrange yet another meeting
with Iranian officials soon to discuss Tehran`s nuclear dossier.
Local press quoted Secretary of the Supreme National Security
Council (SNSC) Hassan Rowhani as saying that Tehran has always
preferred to engage with Europe over its nuclear energy plans,
stressing that giving up the dialogue with Europe is "not logical".
Rowhani told the Persian-language newspaper `Hamshahri` that the
initiative of France, Germany and Britain to open the talks with Iran
during the Tehran visit by the foreign ministers of those countries
last October had made Iran start a "special work" over its nuclear
energy activities.
"Stopping the dialogue with countries regarding nuclear energy
activities is not logical," Rowhani said.
"Why shouldn`t Tehran use its biggest lever which is dialogue
about such an important issue?"
Iran signed the Tehran Declaration with foreign ministers of
France, Britain and Germany last October according to which the three
European partners undertook to supply Iran with nuclear technology in
return for Iran`s signing up to the additional protocol to
Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) which granted intrusive inspection of
nuclear sites by inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency
(IAEA).
