The Imperial Iranian
Air Force was the largest overseas operators of the F-4 Phantom before the Revolution. The Imperial Iranian Air Force placed a order for 16 F-4Ds in 1967. A second batch of 16 more F-4Ds was ordered later. The first batch of F-4Ds arrived in Iran on September 8, 1968, with a total of 32 F-4Ds being ultimately delivered to the Imperial Iranian Air Force. Iranian F-4Ds were used in several unsuccessful attempts to intercept Soviet MiG-25 that were spying on Iran. The first combat use by Iran of the F-4D was in 1975 when Iran provided military assistance to the Sultan of Oman in actions against rebels. One of these F-4Ds was lost to ground fire.
The government of Iran ordered 208 F-4Es and a total of 32 RF-4E from McDonnell during the early and mid-1970s. The first examples were delivered in March of 1971. A total of 177 F-4Es (plus eight F-4Es borrowed from the USA and subsequently returned) and 16 RF-4E were delivered to the Imperial Iranian Air Force between the years 1971 and 1979.

The first air force to receive F-5E was the Imperial Iranian Air Force. During the 1960's and 70's, the Imperial Iranian Air Force had become one of the largest and best-equipped air forces in the world. By most accounts it was the 5th air power in the world. The IIAF put into service its initial squadron of 13 Freedom Fighters on February 1, 1965. On that date, 11 F-5As and 2 F-5Bs arrived at the 1st Tactical Air Base at Mehrabad to replace the F-84 Thunderjets in the strike role. The planes were declared operational in June of 1965. Subsequently, the government of Iran in 1972 purchased a total of 104 F-5As and 23 F-5Bs.
A total of 166 F-5Es and Fs Plus Some 15 RF-5E Recon Version were purchased by the IIAF between 1974 and 1976, enough to equip eight squadrons. The Imperial Iranian Air Force F-5E/Fs were equipped to a high standard, with an onboard Litton inertial navigation system and weapons/ballistic computer

The first and only country to receive F-14 Tomcat was, The Nirouyeh Havaiyeh Shahanshahiye Iran, or Imperial Iranian Air Force.
Soviet MiG-25 Foxbat had regularly been flying unrestricted over Iranian territory, and IIAF had no mean of intercepting these high-speed intruders. Thus, the search for a new fighter/interceptor begun. Iranian pilots were virtually flown and tested every fighter available at the time including MiG's (some done secretly in other countries). The final report which indicated pro's and con's of each fighter suggested the F-14 Tomcat and F-15 Eagle as the best fighters. In August of 1973, the IIAF selected the F-14 Tomcat ( From 1970 Iraq was in contact with French government to equip their Air Force with Mirage F-1, this was another factor for IIAF to choose F-14 and start planning for purchase, operation and training for F-14). The initial order signed in January of 1974 covered 30 Tomcats, but in June 50 more were added to the contract

Und mit den 300 F16, 150 F 14, 70 YF17, 120 F18 den 4 Kidd Class Zerstörer , 206 U-boote , den 1225 Shir1/Challenger1 Panzer wären wir noch stärker...

Und , wenn man bedenkt , dass das die Waffenlieferung für die 1980er Jahre waren oder genauer gesagt bis zum Jahr 1984...
