U.K. Can't Confirm Iran Freed 8 Britons, Foreign Office Says
June 23 (Bloomberg) -- The U.K. government said it can't confirm reports from Tehran that Iranian authorities today released eight U.K. servicemen who were seized on Monday with their three naval vessels on a waterway between Iran and Iraq.

Earlier, the British Broadcasting Corp. cited the Iranian Foreign Ministry as saying the men had been freed. Plans for the release were announced earlier today by the U.K. and Iranian governments. The Iranians haven't told the British government that they have released the servicemen, said a Foreign Office spokesman who declined to be further identified.
