Beijing, June 22, IRNA -- Iran became a member of the Asia
Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) supported by China and Pakistan.
ACD member states approved Iran`s membership in the province of
Shandong, eastern China on Tuesday during the ACD`s third foreign
ministerial meeting.
The foreign ministers also approved membership for the United
Arab Emirates and Mongolia.
The Asia Cooperation Dialogue (ACD) was established two years ago
on the Thai Foreign Ministry`s initiative.
The ACD first met in Thailand in 2002. The meeting was attended
by representatives of 12 countries including Bahrain, China, Pakistan,
India, Indonesia and Thailand. Kuwait, Oman, Sri Lanka and Kazakhstan thereafter joined the organization. Its main goals are to strengthen regional cooperation, identify potentials, set up joint strategies and create an emergency system to respond to critical situations.
ACD member states meet at the foreign ministerial level or hold
talks with no political agenda.

Tehran, June 22, IRNA-- The French national airline, Air France,
resumed its Paris-Tehran flights on Monday after a seven-year
suspension.
The resumption of Air France`s Paris-Tehran flights comes amid
intensified efforts to strengthen the airline`s financial status, the
enhanced economic ties betwen Iran and France and Iran`s status as a
tourist destination, said Air France President Jean-Cyril Spinetta
here Monday evening.
Speaking to reporters, Spinetta said Air France is launching
three weekly flights from Paris to Tehran every Sunday, Tuesday and
Thursday with return flights taking place every Monday, Wednesday and
Friday.
He added that his company was considering increasing its weekly
flights to Tehran to five in the near future.
Air France is also thinking of opening a Paris-Kish line to take
tourists to this Iranian island in the Persian Gulf, said the French
official.
He said his company is happy with Iran`s airport services, and
praised Tehran`s efforts to upgrade its flight network.
