Zitat:TEHRAN, June 19 (AFP) - Iran is to reconsider its suspension of uranium enrichment, Hassan Rowhani, the Islamic republic's top national security official said Saturday..
"In the next few days, Iran is going to reconsider its decision to suspend enrichment," he told a news conference one day after the UN nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), adopted a resolution critical of Tehran.
"The Europeans had pledged that the Iranian file would be closed, and they have not met the commitments."In a deal brokered by Britain, France and Germany last October, Iran agreed to cooperate with the IAEA in a bid to allay widespread suspicions that the
country is using an atomic energy programme as a cover for weapons development.
Under the accord, Iran agreed to suspend uranium enrichment as part of a series of so-called "confidence building" measures. Iran also pledged to allow tougher inspections and give a full account of its nuclear programme.
Although enrichment is permitted under the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), the IAEA had called for Iran to cease such activities while it sought to account for traces of highly enriched uranium found by inspectors here.

Zitat:Russia says never bows to pressures on nuclear deal with IranDie Russen stellen sich langsam ( zumindest mittelfristig...) als zuverlässige Partner heraus. :daumen:
Moscow, June 18, IRNA -- Head of Russian Atomic Energy Agency Alexander Rumyantsev said here on Friday that Russia will never bow to foreign pressure to stop nuclear cooperation with Iran.
Rumyantsev, speaking in a meeting with Iranian journalists, admitted that certain countries are pressuring Russia to decrease nuclear ties with the Islamic Republic, stressing however that Moscow will never care about such positions.
"Our American colleagues criticize us that why Russia is increasing cooperation with Iran and our response is that Moscow's cooperation with Tehran is based on international norms," he said.
