Speaking at fringes of the opening ceremonies of the two-day seminar 'Region and Future', the Kuwaiti prime minister told reporters that relations between Iran and Kuwait are cordial.

Kabul, May 17, IRNA -- Secretary of Iran`s Supreme Council of
Cultural Revolution Ahmad Ahmadi discussed expansion of cultural
ties with the Afghan Minister of Higher Education Faez Mohammad
Sharif here Sunday.
Ahmadi presented 20 titles of books compiled by Afghanistan
university professors in Iran to the minister based on an agreement
already signed by the two countries.
He also voiced the readiness of the Center for Compiling
University Books in Humanities (SAMT,) which he leads, to offer
training to 15 of the staff members of Afghanistan`s ministry of
higher education in different skills related to compiling and
publishing books.
Sharif appreciated Iran`s cooperation with his country in
higher education subjects and stressed the need for its
continuation.

Ja`afar Towfiqi referred to scientific and academic cooperation

Moscow, May 17, IRNA -- Iran`s Foreign Minister Kamal Kharrazi arrived
here Sunday night to meet with high-ranking Russian officials.
Kharrazi, heading a delegation, was welcomed at Moscow airport by
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Alexiev, other officials of
the Ministry as well as Iran`s ambassador to Russia, and Iranian
diplomats at the Embassy.
Alexiev stressed the need for continued bilateral cooperation and
termed exchange of visits by the two countries` senior officials as a
step toward expansion of bilateral cooperation.
He said regional and international issues entail certain
responsibilities for both countries.
Iran and Russia should undoubtedly show appropriate reactions
to the events going on around them based on their common viewpoints

would discuss bilateral and international issues as well as those
which would help further consolidation of ties.
