SKYDAGGER’s AVCI Interceptor UAV Hits Its Target at Test TurDef
SKYDAGGER shared a new test video of its AVCI interceptor UAV aimed at hard-kill against other UAVs, in which a target UAV was directly hit without a warhead.
Shortly after the unveiling of its product in the growing class of UAVs, which has proven itself in the C-UAS role, SKYDAGGER performed an interception test with the AVCI, where a fixed-wing UAV target was hit from the wingtip, causing it to crash.
This makes SKYDAGGER the first Turkish firm to develop and demonstrate a dedicated interceptor UAV. Other than SKYDAGGER, STM is known to be working on an interceptor UAV, as it was shown in a recent infographic regarding unmanned platform developments.
The guidance is seen to be provided by a TV camera, which allows manual or autonomous homing to the target. Ukraine, with a broad portfolio of such UAVs, is known to deploy some types with autonomous homing at the terminal phase.
