Sweden prepares to put a foot back in blue water with frigate acquisition

The acquisition of air defence frigates will revive a measure of blue water capability for the Royal Swedish Navy (RSwN) and allow it to better contribute to NATO maritime tasks, the service’s most senior officer has said.

Ein kleines Update zum Beschaffungsvorhaben der Lulea Klasse.
Beschaffungsvorhaben über 4x Fregatten; HMS Luleå, HMS Norrköping, HMS Trelleborg & HMS Halmstad
Diese sollen primär eine Area Air Defense Capability in die RSwN einführen und zu Sea Control in der Ostsee befähigen, sekundär auch eine Blue Water Capability für multinationale Übungen stellen.

Die RSwN fordert:

• Area Air Defense Capability via ASTER 30 (nun offiziell bestätigt), Entscheidung zwischen B1 und B1NT noch offen
  
• Local Air Defense Capability via MBDA Sea Ceptor bzw CAMM
  
• Anti Submarine Warfare Capoability via Bordhubschrauber und Sonaranlage
  
• RBS-15 AShM
  
• Torped 47
  
• BAE 57mm Mk3 Bordkanone
  
• Flugdeck und Hangar für 1xNH90/MH-60R

Das schwedische Beschaffungsamt hat hierfür drei Anbieter ausgewählt:
Die Arrowhead 120 von Babcock/Saab-Kockums, die FDI von NavalGroup sowie die Alfa-4000 von Navantia. Alle drei Entwürfe sind an die oben genannten Anforderungen angepasst.
