ALTAY Main Battle Tank has entered service equipped with the SAR 127 MT heavy machine gun, developed by SARSILMAZ.
As part of Türkiye’s strategic armored forces modernization program, the ALTAY Main Battle Tank has entered service equipped with the SAR 127 MT heavy machine gun, developed by SARSILMAZ using fully indigenous and national resources. Having successfully completed all qualification processes and already fielded in multiple projects, the system is now fully operational on the ALTAY tank.
With exports to more than 80 countries and a strong engineering background, SARSILMAZ has reached a significant milestone by integrating this critical weapon system into Türkiye’s premier armored platform. The SAR 127 MT, which is among the official development programs of the Presidency of Defence Industries, had previously completed all qualification stages and entered active service.
