Zur wahlweise Dysfunktionalität der Sicherheitsbehörden / Machenschaften des Tiefen Staates in Israel zwei ganz interessante Einblicke von Amit Segal:
Zitat:The IDF’s top lawyer, Major General Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, is suspected of leaking the video of Israeli soldiers abusing a Palestinian terrorist at the Sde Teiman detention facility. It’s hard to overstate just how big a deal this is, but it also requires a recap of events from over a year ago — so I’ll try to break it down.https://x.com/AmitSegal/status/1983866180461875440

There’s a lot to wrap your head around here, so I want to summarize just how outrageous this is. If the allegations are true, the IDF’s top lawyer leaked the video to Israeli media; orchestrated a cover-up by ordering her deputy to “investigate” the leak; provided false reports to the Knesset and High Court on the issue; and claimed that the investigation into the leak uncovered no consequential results.
Zitat: Ronen Bar’s temporary replacement as Shin Bet chief tried to thwart David Zini’s appointment as the agency’s head by passing on information obtained through spyware. That’s according to a stunning scoop published last night by @avishaigrinzaighttps://x.com/AmitSegal/status/1982822838185632208

Among his many revelations, Ben Hanan claimed that “since October 7… the Shin Bet has come to look like a left-wing organization, and that really saddens me. Ronen [Bar] and [other] former officials have steered the organization in a political direction.”
In isolation, Ben Hanan’s accusations could easily look like those of a man who is still angry that he wasn’t appointed as the agency’s head. But now that we know the Shin Bet used spyware to try to block the nomination of its new chief — who just so happens to come from a staunchly right-wing family — it’s much harder to dismiss the claims out of hand.
