TEI Puts TF35000 Turbofan Engine for KAAN on Website TurDef
TEI has put the turbofan engine being developed for KAAN in cooperation with TRMotor on its website with the name TF35000, officially naming the engine.

TEI General Manager Mahmut Akşit has recetly declared at Teknofest in TRNC that TF35000 would become “one of the top three engines in its class worldwide,” underlining that the project is progressing rapidly.

The indigenous turbofan engine being developed for TUSAŞ KAAN’s fifth-generation fighter to replace the initial production F110-GE-129 turbofan engines will put out 35000 lb of thrust, allowing for the desired super cruise performance.

Compared to the F110-GE-129 turbofan being used on KAAN’s prototypes, the engine will provide 6000 lb higher thrust. This is tied with the P&W F119 engine used on the F-22 Raptor fifth-generation fighter, which can super cruise faster than Mach 1.5 at altitude. This tells about what can be expected of KAAN with the TF35000 engines, as both fighters have identical MTOW values.
