ASELSAN's SARP RCWS Gains C-UAS Capability
ASELSAN's SARP line of RCWS will receive C-UAS capability with AI-powered targeting algorithms. A video shared by ASELSAN's X account shows a SARP RCWS with a 12.7 mm machine gun tracking a small UAV.

Additionally, 40x53 mm ATOM airburst grenades are demonstrated against UAVs (both rotary and fixed wing) and indoor targets. ATOM 40x53 mm is used by ASELSAN's hard-kill ŞAHİN C-UAS system that works in conjunction with the İHTAR jammer.

Giving SARP RCWS systems C-UAS capability is an important step in spreading defences throughout the armed forces at a lower cost and faster pace. This is because SARP is widespread in the Turkish Armed Forces service onboard 4x4 vehicles, MBTs, and bases.

This can also raise the export potential of SARP with the proven practice of shooting down slow-flying UAVs with machine guns being refined by automation. Besides SARP, ASELSAN's STAMP family of naval RCWS might soon be able to fight UAV attacks on ships.
