So far, about 350 terrorists have been caught, whom intelligence can identify with certainty as Hamas and PIJ members. Most of them chose to turn themselves in and surrender. An entire corridor in Shifa is now being used as a temporary detention facility for the intelligence division and shin bet to interrogate terrorists, in order to quickly extract information from them.

The forces seized a trove of Hamas intelligence and military archives that were concentrated in the hospital. Among other things, binders that Hamas stole from the Erez crossing on October 7 were found there, containing sensitive information of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories unit. Now the IDF is using the wealth of intelligence to understand what Hamas knew about us in recent months.

The IDF estimates that Hamas may have tried in recent months to re-dig and fix the system of underground tunnels under Shifa, but the assessment is that the system (which was destroyed a few months ago) does not allow terrorists to stay in the tunnels or escape. The operation itself:

Shayetet 13 raided first and moved on top of fast APCs - and in only 15 minutes arrived from the departure point to the hospital gates without any opposition on the way. Dozens of terrorists testified in the investigations: "we were surprised, we did not think that the IDF would return to Shifa and at the very least we thought we would have enough of an advance warning time to escape in time." About 20 minutes after shayetet 13, the 401st Brigade joined in on tanks, Namers and D9s and completed a complete external encirclement of the hospital. The short length of time it took the forces to reach Shifa and the small scope of the forces show the operational freedom of action that was created in the field thanks to the main ground operation to take over gaza. A PIJ terrorist said in his interrogation: "I realized that Allah left me two choices - to surrender or die, and I chose to surrender."
