"This is excellent news for Amec, British industry, and above all the Iraqis, who very much want to see a strong British involvement in the reconstruction process," said Brian Wilson, the trade minister responsible for Iraq.
Zitat:This takes the number of contracts handed out in the last few days to nine. On Wednesday, US firms won seven deals, though some of the work will be done by their UK offices or subcontractors.
These contracts are part of $5bn of funding for work on infrastructure in six sectors ranging from oil to electricity.Payment will come out of the $18.6bn in funds for Iraq set aside by the US.
