Desan Upgrades Slovenian Patrol Vessel
Slovenia awarded a 13.1-million-euro contract to the cooperation of the Desan for the upgrade of the patrol boat Triglav along with ASELSAN.
Turkish Desan, the Croatian Iskra Brodogradilište and the Ljubljana-based Panna Plus will upgrade the patrol boat Triglav, operating in the northern Adriatic, where the country has a small coastline. ASELSAN is also participating in the upgrade, which will provide the electronics.
As part of this order, the ship Triglav will also receive a long-range acoustic system, which enables ships to transmit sound messages in a targeted manner and can be used as a non-lethal weapon. In the tender documentation, the Ministry requested that the noise should reach the threshold of 149 decibels.
A new feature on the vessel will also be a system for detecting and operating against unmanned aerial vehicles, which, according to the tender's requirements, must enable the detection and tracking of unmanned aerial vehicles on the electromagnetic spectrum.
