Jihad council calls for polls boycott

SRINAGAR: Kashmir’s main militant alliance, United Jihad Council (UJC) chairman Syed Salahudin, on Tuesday called on Kashmiris to boycott upcoming Indian parliamentary elections.

“History won’t forget or forgive those who yield to force or greed and participate in the elections,” he said. Mr Salahudin is also the supreme commander of dominant militant group Hizbul Mujahideen, which is among a dozen militant groups that form the UJC.
