Zudem gibt Indien seine vielfältigen Versuche ein eigenes Einheits-Sturmgewehr aus eigener Produktion zu beschaffen auf und setzt nun wieder auf russische AK. Wie bei vielen indischen Beschaffungen ist auch hier wieder interessant zu sehen, dass man explizit nicht die neueste Version will, und dass man von dem was man bestellt noch bestimmte Änderungen will die in Richtung einer Vereinfachung gehen. Also umgekehrt zu mehr Fortschritt, mehr Technik, mehr Komplexität hin zu einfacheren Systemen. Das zieht sich durch das ganze indische Heer so, vom Schlafsack (Carinthia in einer vereinfachten Version) über die Artillerie bis zu den jetzt beschafften AK203:

Indian and Russian media reports over the last 24 hours have stated that the deal to establish indigenous licensed production in Uttar Pradesh has been agreed during Indian defence minister Rajnath Singh’s ongoing visit to Moscow. 100,000 rifles will be imported from Russia while the remaining 670,000 will be produced under license in India, in line with the Modi government’s ‘Make in India’ policy.
