Japan (update): Incidents on 19 and 30 Jan took place some 100-150 km north of the Senkaku (Diaoyu) Islands, where China has positioned warships as possible back-up for paramilitary China Marine Surveillance vessels intruding into Japanese waters around the islands. Update: North Sea Fleet task group (QINGDAO, YANTAI, YANCHENG) has concluded “patrols and training missions” in the South China Sea … now set to head out to West Pacific again.

Streit um Inseln nimmt kein Ende: Japan fordert von China eine Entschuldigung, nachdem ein chinesisches Kriegsschiff sein Zielradar gegen ein japanisches Schiff eingesetzt habe. Der japanische Verteidigungsminister nennt dies einen "gefährlichen Akt". China wirft Japan dagegen vor, falsche Informationen zu verbreiten und Spannungen zu schüren.
