Die 48 iranischen Geiseln waren unter Vermittlung der türkischen Regierung von syrischen Terroristen freigelassen worden. Allerdings nur im Tausch gegen über 2000 inhaftierte Rebellen, darunter mehrere Dutzend türkische Staatsbürger.

Thousands of mostly Syrian prisoners were exchanged Wednesday for a few dozen Iranians in Damascus, a Turkish charity said.
