Three Tunisian men from the Southern town of Ben Guerdane were reportedly killed by forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, local newspaper Attounissiya reported on Saturday.

They are believed to have crossed the Turkish borders to the Syrian town of Idlib to join the Free Syrian Army in their fight against Assad’s regime.
They were accompanied by two other Tunisians, one of whom never made it into Syria, according to Assabah newspaper. The fifth Tunisian was able to escape the combat between the Free Syrian Army and Assad’s forces and return to Turkey, the same source reported.
