Former IRGC Official Ensures Iran's Continued 20% Enrichment

TEHRAN (FNA)- The West will be obliged to accept Iran's continued 20-percent uranium enrichment program irrespective of the Zionist regime's intense pressures, a former official of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said Monday.

"Taking into account the conditions in the oil market and the West's economic situation and given Iran's vast progress in various fields of science, technology and nuclear energy, the West will definitely be forced in future to accept Iran's continued enrichment to the level of 20 percent," former Deputy Representative of the Supreme Leader at the IRGC Mojtaba Zonnour told an IRGC commanders meeting in the central city of Qom.

Yesterday, Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) said there is no reason at the moment to halt production of uranium enriched to 20 percent.

"We have no reason to cede on 20 percent, because we produce only as much of the 20 percent fuel as we need. No more, no less," Fereidoon Abbasi Davani said.
