Gunmen allied to President Ali Abdullah Saleh fire on anti-government protestors in Sanaa, the capital of Yemen, killing at least 47 people.
The gunmen fired from rooftops overlooking the central square. The massacre took place after Friday prayers.
A total of 617 people were injured, 270 with gunshot wounds.

SANA\'A - President Saleh and Bush discussed today in a telephone call the issues of mutual concern relating to fighting terrorism and fields of joint cooperation.
President Bush asserted on US keenness to enhance its relations with Yemen, furthermore he praised Yemeni democratic approach and the current reforms, such as free democratic presidential and local election.
Bush noted that Yemen is an effective partner in fighting terrorism, while he affirmed US advocating to Yemen\'s unity, stability, security and supporting fields of development and democracy in Yemen.
