klingt ja interessant. aber wird da vl. nicht doch ein wenig übertrieben? (kann auch stimmen, aber ich bin derzeit zum Glück nicht in den USA deshalb weiß ichs nicht Smile )

Als Insider, was da steht ist Blödsinn. :lol: Erstens hungert keiner in den USA und zweitens beträgt die Arbeitslosigkeit in den USA um die 10% (was sehr hoch ist) dennoch ist keine Weltuntergangsstimmung in Volk, dafür aber eher viel Hass auf die jetzige Regierung.

Des Weiteren ist Fettleibigkeit in den USA wie auch in Europa das Zeichen der Armut. Und nach der zu urteilen gibt es sehr viel Armut, verhungern tut aber keiner höchstens wird man an Fett bedingten Krankheit sterben.

USA: Republikaner mit neuer Dynamik

Die Tea-Party-Bewegung hat der Grand Old Party Schwung verliehen.Die Republikaner wollen bei den Kongresswahlen die Mehrheit im Kapitol erobern – und zwar in beiden Kammern des US-Parlaments.


Washington. Wie ein Kastell liegt das Marriott-Wardman-Park-Hotel auf einer Anhöhe über Washington. Im Vorjahr suchten die Republikaner bei der jährlichen „Conservative Political Action Conference“ im bunkerartigen, weit verzweigten Hotelbauch mit seinen Sälen, Fluren und Bars hier Zuflucht vor einer feindlichen Umwelt, die Barack Obama zum Präsidenten gewählt hatte.

Dominierten damals Niedergeschlagenheit und Trotz, lag in den vergangenen Tagen der Geist von Siegeszuversicht und Euphorie in der stickigen Luft. Die Stimmung hat sich gedreht. Die Tea-Party-Bewegung, ein ultrakonservatives Protestbündnis, hat auch der abgeschriebenen Grand Old Party neue Dynamik verliehen. An allen Ecken und Buchständen erinnerte der republikanische Säulenheilige an bessere Tage – an jene der „Reagan Revolution“.

Zum Auftakt setzte ein Überraschungsgast den Akzent. „Obama wird ein Präsident für nur eine Amtszeit sein“, verhieß Ex-Vizepräsident Dick Cheney einer johlenden Menge. Der prominenteste Kritiker des Präsidenten ließ keinen Zweifel daran, dass die Republikaner bei den Kongresswahlen die Mehrheit im Kapitol erobern werden – und zwar in beiden Kammern des US-Parlaments, woran derzeit nur die größten Optimisten in der Opposition glauben.......

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Sunday shows that 22% of the nation's voters Strongly Approve of the way that Barack Obama is performing his role as President. That is the lowest level of strong approval yet recorded for this President.

Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -19. The Approval Index has been lower only on one day during Barack Obama’s thirteen months in office (see trends). The previous low came on December 22 as the Senate was preparing to approve its version of the proposed health care legislation. The current lows come as the President is once again focusing attention on the health care legislation.

Currently, 39% of voters nationwide favor the health care plan proposed by the President and Congressional Democrats. Fifty-eight percent (58%) are opposed. Only 35% believe Congress should pass health care reform before the upcoming midterm elections anyway. Fifty-four percent (54%) say Congress should wait until voters select new congressional representatives in November......

Republican Renaissance?: GOP Will Gain Significantly, But Probably Remain in House Minority

The last two U.S. House of Representatives elections have been Democratic landslides that have left them with a 79-seat majority. In 2006, Democrats picked up 29 seats on election night (exactly as the Crystal Ball predicted, by the way) and didn’t lose a single seat of their own, even adding another pick-up in a December runoff. The winning streak continued in 2008, with Democrats netting 21 new seats in what was a Blue year across the board.

A month and a half into the midterm year of 2010, already Republicans can feel the tide turning. The electoral disasters of 2006 and 2008, due to the toxic unpopularity of George W. Bush and the war in Iraq, represented the dark ages for the GOP, but now they sense a Republican Renaissance in 2010.

Some pundits are already predicting the GOP could even take back the House, which would require a net gain of 40 seats this November. To put that into perspective, in the past sixty years there have been thirty House elections, but only four have resulted in either party gaining 40 seats or more. In fact, over the past thirty-five years (and sixteen House elections), only once has either party picked up 40 seats or more. That year, of course, was 1994 when Republicans came to power following a net gain of 52 House seats.......

Ich bin da etwas optimistischer, denn die Demokraten werden sich wieder ins Gesundheitschaos stürzen und die GOP wird ihnen dann die Hölle heiß machen. Sollte Obama vor den Halbzeit Wahlen nicht den Iran angreifen, wird er entweder in Senat oder in Congress oder in beiden (gut das wäre heftig) verlieren.
